Hunterdon Woman Crowned
1998 New Jersey Dairy Princess

Laura Cooper, daughter of Frank and Diane Cooper of Lambertville, is the newly crowned 1998-99 New Jersey Dairy Princess and recipient of a $500 scholarship. She was also selected as Miss Congeniality by her peers. A graduate from Hunterdon Central High School, the 19-year-old lives with her parents on their 174-acre dairy farm in Delaware Township, Hunterdon County. Laura attends Delaware Valley College and works at the Howell Living History Farm. Her hobbies include Western line dancing and driving draft horses and she is a member of the Mount Airy 4-H Club. First alternate was South Jersey Dairy Princess Cherri Sickler, daughter of Ralph and Leslie Sickler of Woodstown, Salem County, who was awarded a $300 scholarship. The 17-year-old is a senior at Woodstown High School. Second alternate was Kate Westbrook, daughter of Jacob and Karen Westbrook of Newton, Sussex County, who was awarded a $200 scholarship. The 18-year-old is a student at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
