|To support projects in the following areas: Education (priority is given to programs that enhance student achievement through systemic improvement of academic standards, curriculum, student services, teacher preparation, and the availability of educational resources); Community Development (priority is given to development efforts that transform blighted or undeveloped areas into thriving neighborhoods and business centers); Health and Human Services (priority is given to programs that create healthy communities with a focus on improving the quality of life for children and families); and Arts and Culture (priority is given to programs that expand the availability of the arts and cultural experiences with a focus on education and outreach).
Eligibility:Non-profit organizations that: align with First Union's mission and focus in the areas of education, community development, health and human services, and arts and culture; be located and/or provide services in First Union's full service Financial Center or First Union Securities markets; and have broad community support, address specific community needs and demonstrate fiscal and administrative stability.
