Volunteer Appreciation Day 2017

The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) held a Volunteer Appreciation Day event at the War Memorial in Trenton on September 26. Volunteers from each NJDOC facility were chosen to receive Volunteer of the Year awards. In addition, awards were bestowed to the Literacy Vanguard and to two employees actively involved in helping their coworkers through the department’s Critical Incident Stress Management program.

The NJDOC welcomes volunteers into its facilities to aid in the areas of education, religion and addiction. These individuals play a vital role in supporting the department’s efforts to promote successful inmate reentry into society.
