It’s Graduation Day for Class 231

The New Jersey Department of Corrections’ Office of Training held a graduation ceremony on June 17 in the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton. NJDOC Commissioner Gary M. Lanigan administered the Oath of Office to the 153 recruits who comprise the Basic Course for State Correction Officers, Class 231. The members of Class 231 completed a rigorous program that covered a wide variety of areas related to law enforcement.

Class 231, which represents 19 counties throughout the state, includes 28 individuals who have served in the military – 13 Army, five Army National Guard, four Marine Corps, three Navy, two Air Force and one Coast Guard. There are a total of 43 members of Class 231 with college degrees.

Guest speaker at the ceremony was Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno.
