Graduation Day Arrives for Class 230
The New Jersey Department of Corrections’ Office of Training held a graduation ceremony on the morning of February 4 at the War Memorial in Trenton. NJDOC Commissioner Gary M. Lanigan administered the Oath of Office to the 171 recruits who comprise the Basic Course for State Correction Officers, Class 230. The guest speaker was Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, who served as a federal prosecutor, an assistant attorney general in New Jersey, the deputy director of the Division of Criminal Justice and as sheriff of Monmouth County before her election as Lt. Governor.
Class 230 included 35 individuals who served in the military – 18 Army, 12 Marine Corps, four Air Force and one Navy. A total of 59 members of Class 230 earned college degrees.
