It’s Graduation Day for Class 232

New Jersey Department of Corrections Commissioner Gary M. Lanigan administered the Oath of Office to the 79 trainees who comprised the Basic Course for State Correction Officers, Class 232, during a ceremony held November 10 at the War Memorial in Trenton.

Thirty NJDOC employees who recently have been promoted also were recognized.

The guest speaker was Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, who was sworn into office as the state’s first Lt. Governor in January 2010.

Class 232 included nine individuals who have served in the military – six Army, one Marine Corps, one Navy and one Air Force. There were a total of 27 members of Class 232 with college degrees. Seventeen trainees were from law enforcement families; 12 were second generation, and five were third generation.
