The Fire Department consists of one career chief, three career fire captains, nine career firefighters, and 45 volunteer firefighters. The department covers 44 square miles from one station at 420 Buck St. The apparatus maintained by the department consists of four class "A" pumpers, one 100 foot and one 75 foot quint trucks (aerial truck with a pump), one brush truck, one heavy rescue truck, one light wagon, and six support vehicles. In addition, there is a fire safety house for educational programs. The Fire Department answers approximately 1,000 alarms per year with an average of 20 members responding per alarm.
