Chief of Police
Police officers and civilian personnel maintain the safety and security of the residents of Millville. Patrol units operate from various City sectors for minimum response time. Walking patrol officers are assigned to the downtown area and is supplemented by special officers who regularly patrol the area at various times of day.
The Police Department maintains a Traffic Safety Section, a Training unit, a Detective Section, and a five-man Neighborhood Crime Prevention Unit headed by Sgt. Harry Cramner.
A department sponsored Police Athletic League organization is up and running and volunteer officers strive to benefit the youth of the community with various sports-oriented programs to encourage self-confidence, healthy competition and group interaction.
Millville also has a Police Explorer program for young men and women between the ages of 15 and 20. Its purpose is to provide a means by which young men and women may determine, through actual experience and training, if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. Anyone interested may pick up an application at the Millville Police Department.
