- History and Establishment
- Mercer County Skating Center officially opened on October 25, 1975 spanning over 5 acres in Mercer County Park.
- Princeton architect Richard Charlton designed the skating center, and the Scozzari Brothers of Trenton were the general contractors for this project.
- The intended purpose of the new center was to provide outdoor recreational skating for the general public regardless of weather conditions.
- Rink floor was built on a 5-inch floating slab of concrete.

- Mercer County Skating Center is an open air, sheltered skating facility, which is approximately 85 by 200 feet.
- The rink's outdoor amenities include ice hockey boards, a permanent Plexiglas system, aluminum bleachers, and an electronic clock and score board surrounded by protective netting.

Skate rentals $3 - Group and private lessons are available for figure skating.
Adults (17 & older per 5 week session) $60
Juniors (16 & younger per 5 week session) $55 - Private ice time rental $225 per hour (insurance required)
- Birthday parties ($145 for up to 10 people) and private parties ($500 for 2 hours)

- Lesson Information
Group lessons are offered at the Mercer County Park Skating Center on Sat and Sun mornings between the hours of 9:45am & 11:45am.
Thursday evenings starting in January from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
Lessons include a half-hour group lesson and 1 hour of practice time each week.
Each session of lessons run for 5 weeks.Session I runs from Sat Nov 12th & Sun Nov 13th through Sat Dec 17th & Sun Dec 18th (no group lessons on Thanksgiving weekend)
Session II Sat Jan 7th & Sun Jan 8th through Sat Feb 4th & Sun Feb 5th Thursday evening Jan 5th through Thursday evening Feb 2nd
Session III runs from Sat Feb 11th & Sun Feb 12th through Sat Mar 10th & Sun Mar 11th
Thursday evening Feb 9th through Thursday evening March 8th.
Pre-registration is required by mail or in person at the skating center. See group lesson brochure for application. You must pre-register before the start date of your class. Registrations will not be accepted on first day of class.
Registration for all sessions will be held at the skating center on the following dates:
Session 1 Registration Saturday Nov 5th & Sun Nov 6th 9am to noon (mailed application must be post marked by Nov 7th)
Session 2 Registration Saturday Dec 17 & Sun Dec 18th 9am to noon Thursday Dec 29th 12-2pm (mailed application must be post marked by Dec 31st)
Session 3 Registration Saturday Feb 4th & Sun Feb 5th 9am to noon (mailed application must be post marked by Feb 6th)
Prorated rolling admissions are applied throughout each session until classes are full.
Private skating lessons (one person) and semi-private skating lessons (two people) are offered on Saturday and Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings. Lessons are 20min in duration with one of our skating pros. The cost for 1 person 20min lesson $20. Two people 20min lesson $24.
