Hopewell Township

On or about Monday, April 13, 2015, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Pennington-Hopewell Road (County Route 654) from Marshall's Corner-Woodsville Road to Moores Mill-Mount Rose Road in Hopewell Township.   Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately fourteen (14) working days, weather permitting, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekdays only.

During construction, Eastbound Pennington-Hopewell Road will be closed to through traffic.  Motorists will be directed to Route 31 North and then right onto Lambertville-Hopewell Road to Pennington-Hopewell Road (end of detour).  However, local traffic will be permitted to Marshall's Corner-Woodsville Road.  Westbound Pennington-Hopewell Road will remain open to traffic.  Road closures will be in effect only during hours of construction.  Both directions of Pennington-Hopewell Road will remain open all other times.

Pleasant Valley-Harbourton Bridge (Structure No. 211.15)

On or about Monday, April 27, 2015, bridge repairs will commence on Structure No. 211.15, located on Pleasant Valley-Harbourton Road Bridge approximately one mile west of Trenton-Harbourton Road (CR 579).  County forces will complete the work, which includes roadway excavation and structural repairs.  Construction will take place between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only.  We anticipate this work will require approximately forty (40) working days to complete, weather permitting.

Due to the nature of the work, Pleasant Valley-Harbourton Road will be closed to all traffic on a 24/7 basis.  A detour will be posted directing motorists to use Pleasant Valley Road and CR 579.  Mercer County staff will also post signs prior to the start date advising motorists of the upcoming bridge work.

Ewing Township

On or about Monday, April 6, 2015, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Grand Avenue from Railroad Avenue to West Upper Ferry Road.  Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately ten (10) work days, weather permitting.  During construction, this section of Grand Avenue will be closed to through traffic from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only.  However, emergency access and access for businesses and residents would be permitted during this time.  Southbound through motorists will be directed to turn left onto West Upper Ferry Road, right onto Decou Avenue and continue straight onto Railroad Avenue to Grand Avenue (end of detour).  Since left turns are prohibited from Decou Avenue, northbound through motorists will be directed to turn right onto Railroad Avenue, left onto Central Avenue, right onto Howell Avenue and left onto West Upper Ferry Road.  Truckers will be directed to use Lower Ferry Road and Parkway Avenue.
