Washington Crossing-Pennington Road (County Route 546)

On or about Monday, March 24, 2014, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Washington Crossing-Pennington Road from Scotch Road to Ingleside Avenue. Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately ten (10) working days, weather permitting.  Work will occur from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only.  During this time, the roadway will be closed to eastbound traffic with motorists directed to turn left on Scotch Road, right on Pennington-Titusville Road and then right on NJ State Route 31.  Westbound traffic will be maintained.  Both directions of Washington Crossing Road will be open to traffic all other times.

Bear Tavern Road

On or about Monday, April 7, 2014, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Bear Tavern Road from Pleasant Valley-Harbourton Road to Pennington-Harbourton Road.  Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately ten (10) working days, weather permitting. During construction, this section of Bear Tavern Road will be closed to through traffic from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only.  However, emergency access and access for businesses and residents within the work area would be permitted during this time.  Motorists traveling northbound will be directed to travel Bear Tavern Road (at Pennington-Harbourton Road), left onto Pleasant Valley Road, right onto Pleasant Valley-Harbourton Road to Bear Tavern Road.  Southbound Bear Tavern Road traffic will follow the same route conversely.

East Windsor

Bridge No. 860.1, Millstone Road over the Millstone River

Mercer County together with Middlesex County is moving forward with the plans to replace Bridge No. 860.1, which carries Millstone Road over the Millstone River. The contract was awarded to Marbro Construction on September 12, 2013. The project is anticipated to start December 9, 2013, with an anticipated completion time of approximately six (6) months, weather permitting.

During this time, Millstone Road at the bridge would need to be completely closed and it will be necessary to detour traffic. Motorists will be directed to use Old Trenton Road, Southfield Drive/Nostrand Drive and Cranbury Neck Road. Millstone Road/John White Road will be open to local traffic up to the construction site. Project notification signs will be installed in the vicinity of the construction one (1) week prior to commencement of construction.
