Lawrence/Hopewell Township

Carter Road (CR 569)

On or about Monday, October 3, 2016, milling and resurfacing of Carter Road (CR 569) in the Townships of Lawrence and Hopewell will commence.  Construction will be implemented in three (3) separate, complete phases as described below:

Phase 1 – Mill and resurface Carter Road from Rosedale Road to Elm Ridge Road.  During this time, northbound Carter Road would be maintained.  Southbound traffic will be detoured via Cherry Valley Road, Great Road and Rosedale Road.  Phase 1 would begin October 3 and would require approximately ten (10) working days, weather permitting.

Phase 2 – Mill and resurface Carter Road from Elm Ridge Road to Cleveland Road.  During this time, Carter Road would be closed to through traffic.  Motorists would be directed to use Pennington-Rocky Hill Road and Elm Ridge Road.  Phase 2 would begin immediately following completion of Phase 1 and would require approximately five (5) working days, weather permitting.

Phase 3 – Mill and resurface Carter Road from Pennington-Rocky Hill Road (Mt. Rose) to Hopewell Borough line.  During this time, Carter Road would be closed to through traffic.  Motorists would be directed to use Hopewell-Rocky Hill Road, Province Line Road and Cherry Valley Road.  Phase 3 would begin immediately following completion of Phase 2 and would require approximately fifteen (15) working days, weather permitting.

Construction would occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekdays only.  During that time, access to local residences and businesses would be permitted.  Carter Road would be open to through traffic all other times.

Ewing Township

Scotch Road (CR 611), Ewing Township

Or about Monday, August 29, 2016, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Scotch Road (CR 611) from I-95 to Upper Ferry Road in Ewing Township.  Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately fifteen (15) working days, weather permitting. Construction will take place from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekdays only.

Mercer County proposes to complete the milling and resurfacing of Scotch Road (CR 611) as follows with each segment completed in their respective stages:

Stage 1:  One travel direction (Southbound) will be maintained during construction from Sam Weinroth Road to Upper Ferry Road.  Northbound traffic only are advised to detour right onto Upper Ferry Road, left onto Lower Ferry Road, continue onto Reed Road, left onto Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, left onto Scotch Road to end of detour.

Stage 2:  One-lane in each direction will be maintained during construction from I-95 to Sam Weinroth Road.

East Windsor Township/West Windsor Township

Milling and Resurfacing Project
Old Trenton Road (CR 535)

On or about Tuesday, September 6, 2016, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Old Trenton Road (CR 535) between Village Road and Dorchester Drive. Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately ten (10) working days, weather permitting.

Construction will take place from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekdays only.  During this time, Old Trenton Road will be closed to through traffic.  Motorists traveling northbound on Old Trenton Road would be directed to use New Village Road, Southfield Road and Princeton-Hightstown Road (CR 571).  Southbound motorists would be directed to use Dorchester Drive, Dutch Neck Road, South Lane and Village Road.  During construction, emergency access and limited access to local residents and businesses would be permitted.  Full, unrestricted access would be permitted during non-working hours.

East Windsor Township

Ward Street (Structure No. 863.5)

On or about Monday, April 25, 2016 bridge repairs will commence on Mercer County Structure No. 863.5 located on Ward Street between Etra Road and Davidson Road in the Township of East Windsor.  Repairs will consist of repairing the bridge deck.  All work will be completed by in-house work forces.  Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately ten (10) working days to complete, weather permitting.  Construction will take place from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only.   However, Ward Street at the construction site will be closed to all traffic on a 24/7 basis until completion of the project. During construction, motorists will be directed to use Etra Road and South Main Street.  Mercer County staff will post signs prior to the start date advising of the pending road closure.

Hopewell Township

Carter Road (Structure No. 543.7) over Shipetaukin Creek

On or about Monday, April 18, 2016 replacement of Mercer County Structure No. 543.7, which carries Carter Road over Shipetaukin Creek, is expected to commence.  The project site is located approximately 1600¢ west of US Route 206.  The anticipated duration of this project is 135 calendar days.

Although work would take place weekdays from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Carter Road would be completely closed to all traffic on a 24/7 basis during construction.  Motorists will be directed to use Rosedale Road to Province Line Road to US Route 206.

Hopewell Township

On or about Monday, September 12, 2016, milling and resurfacing work will begin on Elm Ridge Road (CR 625) from Pennington-Rocky Hill Road to Carter Road in the Township of Hopewell.  Mercer County anticipates that this work will take approximately fifteen (15) working days, weather permitting.  Construction will take place between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  During this time, Elm Ridge Road will be closed to through traffic.  A detour will be posted directing motorists to use Pennington-Rocky Hill Road and Carter Road.  However, local and emergency access would be permitted.  Full, unrestricted access would be permitted during non-working hours.
