TRENTON, N.J. - Mercer County-based non-profit arts organizations that are a 501(c)3 or (c)4 that plan to offer arts programming, performances, art classes or arts services are eligible to apply for the Fiscal Year 2012 Local Arts Program (LAP) grants offered through the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission (MCC&HC).  The deadline for the arts grant application is April 23, 2011.

This grant-funding opportunity is made possible by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Locals Arts Program Grant made to and administered by the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission; and by the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
History Program:
Mercer County-based non-profit organizations (particularly historic sites, historical organizations,) libraries, schools, and local government entities that wish to bring historical programming and information to a broad public audience are eligible to apply for this program year grant cycle begins September 1, 2011 – August 31, 2012.  The deadline for the history grant application is June 25, 2011.

Grant-Writing Workshop:
The Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission is offering a grant-writing technical assistance workshop to be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the second floor Freeholders Room of the Mercer County Administration Building, 640 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ  08650.

All new applicants are encouraged to attend, but past applicants also are welcome.  Call the MCC&HC at (609) 278-2712 or email ltramo@mercercounty.org to register for the free workshop.
