TRENTON, N.J. - The Mercer County Park Commission offers unique and fun programs throughout the year that showcase the exciting diversity in our local natural habitats.

Residents are encouraged to join Mercer County naturalist Jennifer Rogers on any of the nature programs below:

March 6 (Sunday):  Late Winter Waterfowl Walk. 1 – 3 p.m.  Wear shoes appropriate for mud and bring your binoculars!  Please note that most of the ducks will be tough to see without binoculars.  Meet at Roebling Park, Spring Lake Area (off of Sewell Ave.). This program is free.

March 11 (Friday):  Just a Hike.  1:30 – 3:30 p.m.  Please wear sturdy shoes.  Meet at Baldpate Mountain, Pleasant Valley parking lot. This program is free.

March 20 (Sunday):  Wildlife Guess Who.  1 – 3 p.m.  Join Mercer County Wildlife Center Clinic Supervisor, Jane Rakos-Yates and County Naturalist Jenn Rogers for an afternoon of wildlife!  Families are invited to the Wildlife Center’s education room to learn about the various animal families by playing a game and visiting with live wildlife.
* Please call 609-883-6606 x103 to pre-register.  Only individuals or families that have pre-registered will be allowed to attend this program due to the limited seating at the Center. Meet at Mercer County Wildlife Center (on Route 29).  $5 per person

March 22 (Tuesday):  Trail Trek.  9 – 10:30 a.m.  Take in fresh air, energize your body and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with Mercer County’s Naturalist.  Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring a water bottle.  Meet at Mercer County Park, in the Tennis Center parking lot. Hikes are free and for adults.

March 28 (Monday):  Bird Walk.  1:30 – 3:30p.m.  Meet at Mercer Meadows, Pole Farm section Federal City Road parking lot.
