TRENTON, N.J. - Many sites throughout Mercer County will offer Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance to help residents prepare and file their 2011 taxes, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said.

The AARP Foundation is providing Tax-Aides to assist with 2011 tax preparation at Mercer County Connection, libraries and other sites this tax season. The deadline for filing 2011 tax returns for both state and federal taxes is April 17, 2012. Below is the list of sites where free income tax preparation assistance is being provided:

Mercer County Connection (957 Route 33, Hamilton) – For taxpayers with low and middle incomes, with special consideration for those age 60 and older. Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 3 through April 16. By appointment only, call (609) 890-9800.

Ewing Branch, Mercer County Library System (61 Scotch Road, West Trenton) – Wednesdays at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon, Feb. 1 through April 14. By appointment only, call (609) 882-3148.

Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System (138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor) – Saturdays, Feb. 11, March 17 and March 31, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. By appointment only, call (609) 448-1330.

Hightstown Memorial Branch, Mercer County Library System (114 Franklin St., Hightstown) – Friday, Feb. 10, and Friday, March 2, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Monday, March 5, 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. By appointment only, call (609) 448-1474.

Lawrence Branch, Mercer County Library System (2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence) – Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., Feb. 2 through April 12. By appointment only, call (609) 882-9246.

Robbinsville Branch, Mercer County Library System (42 Allentown-Robbinsville Road, Robbinsville) – Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Feb. 1 through April 11. Appointments are every half hour with the last appointment at 12:30 p.m. Call (609) 259-2150 to register.

Twin Rivers Branch, Mercer County Library System (276 Abbington Drive, East Windsor) – Friday, Feb. 24, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., for singles and families making less than $50,000. By appointment only, call (609) 443-1880.
