TRENTON, N.J. - Less than a month after he announced the addition of service to St. Augustine, Florida, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes today announced that Frontier Airlines will expand its low-fare service at Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing to 17 destinations with the addition of nonstop flights to St. Louis, Minneapolis and Milwaukee beginning June 13, 2014. To celebrate this announcement, Frontier is offering ultra-low fares starting at $55 each way to St. Louis; $59 each way to Milwaukee, and $75 each way to Minneapolis through Feb. 23, 2014.
“Never before in its history has Trenton-Mercer Airport offered this number and variety of destinations, and we are thrilled with Frontier’s plan to further expand its network of destinations by adding St. Louis, Milwaukee and Minneapolis,” Hughes said.
In fall 2013, Mercer County’s Trenton-Mercer Airport underwent a rapid, multi-million-dollar overhaul, the bulk of it paid for through federal grant dollars. The airport reopened Nov. 8 and is earning high marks from the traveling public.
“It took a great team effort to complete our renovations within the tight two-month window,” Hughes said, “and we are thrilled that Frontier Airlines continues to expand its slate of destinations from Trenton-Mercer Airport.”
