County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello and her Passport team processed over 260 passports for Mercer County residents during “Passport Days In the USA”, a nationwide extended event held in conjunction with the U.S. State Department in early April.

During the first two weeks of April, Clerk Paula Sollami Covello fully staffed the County Clerk’s Office at the Old Courthouse, held special hours at the Mercer County Connection, and visited Greater Hopewell and West Windsor’s Municipal Center to process passport applications for residents. The ten-day drive was part of an effort to bring awareness to the importance of having a valid U.S. Passport and to help Mercer County residents obtain or renew them.

“Spring is the time of year Mercer County residents begin to plan for their summer and fall travel abroad. I know that Mercer residents lead very busy lives, so I want to make the process of obtaining or renewing a U.S. passport as convenient as possible,” said Sollami Covello. “That is why the Clerk’s Office visits town centers throughout Mercer County and has special hours at its satellite office to process U.S. Passport applications on-site for residents,” Sollami Covello added.

Additional passport processing events will take place on the following dates:
Lawrence: Thursday, May 12 - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Senior Center, 30 East Darrah Lane.
East Windsor: Wednesday, May 25 - 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the East Windsor Municipal Building, 16 Lanning Boulevard.
Ewing: Tuesday, May 31 - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ewing Municipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive.

For those who are unable to participate in the special passport events, the Mercer County Clerk’s office processes U.S. Passport applications on a regular basis, Monday through Friday during regular business hours at County Clerk’s Office, 209 South Broad Street in Trenton.  In addition, residents can also apply for a U.S. Passport at the Mercer County Connection located at the Hamilton Square Shopping Center on Highway 33 & Paxson Avenue in Hamilton.  The County Connection satellite office offers evening and Saturday hours for the convenience of Mercer County residents. Passport photos are available at both locations.
