Anticipating a higher than usual demand in Vote-by-Mail ballots for the upcoming Presidential Election, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello announced the County Clerk’s election office will be open late to receive Vote-by-Mail applications. The Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday through Friday - October 30 through November 2, and on Saturday, November 3 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.

The Mercer County Clerk’s Election Office is located on the second floor of the Old Courthouse at 209 South Broad Street, in Trenton; Sheriff’s Officers will be on-site to provide security.

The last day to mail in a Vote-by-Mail application for the Presidential Election is Tuesday, October 30. However, voters may apply for a Vote-by-Mail ballot in person up until 3:00 pm on Monday, November 5, the day before the election. In order to obtain a mail-in ballot, you must already be registered to vote in Mercer County. The voter registration deadline is October 16. Registration forms can be found on MercerCounty.org. The Mercer County Clerk’s Office can process a Vote-by-Mail application and provide a ballot on site, if the voter applies in person. However, the ballot must be returned directly to the Mercer County Board of Elections at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton, in order for the vote to be counted. That office will also be offering extended hours.

The County Clerk has offered these expanded Vote-by-Mail hours to make it convenient for those who might not be able to visit the Clerks Office during regular business hours. “Voting should be accessible to any registered voter. That is why I extended our hours,” said Sollami Covello. Vote-by-Mail applications can also downloaded from the New Jersey Division of Elections at NJElections.org in English, Spanish, Korean, Indian (Guajarati), and Chinese. Additionally, applications may also be obtained at the Mercer County Connection located in the Hamilton Square Shopping Center at Route 33 and Paxson Avenue in Hamilton.
