September 12, 2013 -

The Board of Chosen Freeholders invited Chef Frank Benowitz to their September 12th meeting to honor him for his second place win at the Jersey Seafood Challenge and to recognize the strides he has made as head of Mercer County Community College’s Culinology department.

Chef Benowitz has been instrumental in bringing recognition to the college’s program, even going as far as to bring in internationally renowned chefs such as Food Network’s “Iron Chef” Cat Cora, and host of the network’s Restaurant Impossible, Robert Irvine, into Mercer’s kitchens.  For more information on Mercer’s Culinary Arts Program, visit
