The Mercer County Sheriff's Office has experienced overwhelming support for its program "Mercer's Most Wanted." Dating back to August 1994, a very successful weekly program had been aired on the local TV station WZBN/25. The local TV station is now gone. However, under the leadership of Sheriff Jack Kemler, Mercer's Most Wanted is becoming a standard again with the cooperation of Mercer County's two daily newspapers. Since the beginning of the program, nearly 1000 fugitives have been featured. Many hundreds of these fugitives have been apprehended, most within 48 hours of alerting the general public. The Sheriff's Office has a 24-hour hotline available for the public to report any information they may have on wanted persons. All calls are confidential.
