| From Route U.S. 1 North: |
Travel Route 1 north to the Avenel Street intersection (there will be a sign for Woodbridge Developmental Center). At the traffic light , make a right turn onto Avenel Street. Travel Avenel Street to the second traffic light. This will be the intersection of Avenel Street and Rahway Avenue. Make a left turn onto Rahway Avenue. The Woodbridge Developmental Center entrance is approximately one half mile on the left. |
| From Route U.S. 1 South: |
Travel Route 1 south to the Lawrence Street exit (the exit sign will say Rahway, Carteret, Woodbridge/Motor Vehicle Inspection). Make a right turn then bear to left and make a left turn onto Lawrence Street. Travel Lawrence Street across Route 1. The first traffic light will be the intersection of Lawrence Street and Hazelwood Avenue. Proceed straight ahead. Once you cross Hazelwood Avenue, Lawrence Street turns into Rahway Avenue. Woodbridge Developmental Center is approximately one half mile on the right.

| From the N.J. Turnpike: |
Travel the Turnpike north or south to exit 12, Carteret. After padding through the toll plaza, bear to the right and follow signs for Rahway. Travel over the Turnpike bridge and proceed straight ahead on Roosevelt Avenue. Roosevelt Avenue will turn into Randolph Avenue. Travel this road to the end (approximately three (3) miles) at the traffic light. This will be the intersection of Randolph Avenue and Rahway Avenue. Make a left turn onto Rahway Avenue. Travel Rahway Avenue to the first traffic light. Travel straight ahead through the traffic light. The entrance to Woodbridge Developmental Center follows closely on the right. |
| From the Garden State Parkway: |
Travel the Garden State Parkway north or south to exit 135. After exiting the Parkway, follow the signs for Rahway and Carteret. At the first light, make a left turn onto Westfield Avenue, Clark. Westfield Avenue will eventually turn into Grand Avenue, Rahway. Travel Grand Avenue to the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lawrence Street, Rahway (there will be a yellow flashing light). Make a right turn onto Lawrence Street. Travel Lawrence Street across US 1. After passing through the first traffic light (Hazelwood Avenue intersection) Lawrence Street turns into Rahway Avenue. Travel Rahway Avenue approximately one mile past the N.J. Division of Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, Central New Jersey State Prison Complex and Middlesex County Day Training Center. Once past the third traffic light, the Woodbridge Developmental Center entrance follows closely on the right. |
