State of New Jersey, Civil Service Commission
Governor Phil Murphy • Lt.Governor Sheila Oliver

The New Jersey Civil Service Commission continues to evaluate titles that are appropriate for reallocation from the competitive to the noncompetitive class of service. These actions will provide State and local agencies with the flexibility and timeliness needed to meet their staffing needs.

The New Jersey Civil Service Commission (CSC) plans to reallocate the Fingerprint Processing Technician Apprentice title (45009) from the Competitive to the Noncompetitive class of service.

This title has been identified for reallocation based on the criteria defined in N.J.A.C. 4A:3-1.2(c)1.

The title is an Apprentice title; hence has no experience requirements. Testing for this title is not practicable given the skills required to perform the job are gained through on the job training.

We are certain this class of service reallocation represents a positive and welcomed step towards change in our business practices.

Questions or comments about this process should be directed to John Teubner, Deputy Director, Division of Agency Services, CSC at John.Teubner@csc.nj.gov.  All submissions must be received no later than September 24, 2015.
