On August 6, 2014, Police Sergeant test results will be issued for the 11 towns which will have priority promotion lists.

These eligible lists will NOT be posted on the CSC website. Individuals on these lists will receive their test results by mail. Candidates who are not eligible for priority promotion will also receive their test scores in the mail. Regular eligible lists will NOT be issued until the appropriate number of appointments have been made from the priority lists. Once all required priority appointments have been made, regular lists will be issued. At that time, candidates appearing on these lists will receive their final score and rank. Regular lists will have a three-year duration which will be based on the date they are issued.

The 11 towns which will have priority promotion lists are:

  • Atlantic City
  • East Orange
  • Elizabeth
  • Hoboken
  • Jersey City
  • New Brunswick
  • Newark
  • Passaic
  • Paterson
  • Teaneck
  • Trenton

Information on scheduling a review of the video portion of the 2013 Police Sergeant examination will be mailed with test results and is also available here.

On July 30, 2014 Police Sergeant test results were issued for all jurisdictions with the exception of the 11 towns which will have priority promotion lists. These test results were sent by mail and can be viewed here.

Please do not call the Civil Service Commission regarding individual score or list results. Staff will not provide this information over the phone.

Important Note: If you do not receive your test results within 7 days of the issue date and you've changed your mailing address within the past 12 months and have not informed the CSC of your new address, please update your address information here.  Please include a note in the "Comments" section of the form stating that you have not received your Police Sergeant results in the mail so that your notice can be mailed again after your address has been updated.

4/30/2014 - Results for the 2013 Law Enforcement Examination (LEE) have been mailed to all candidates.  Please do not contact the NJCSC for your test results.  Your test results will not be given to you over the phone or by email.  If you have not received your test results by May 15, 2014, call (609) 292-4144 or send an email to 2013LEE@csc.state.nj.us and we will check to see if your notice was returned to us from the US Post Office. Please include your first and last name and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number or your Assigned Applicant ID when sending an email requesting a duplicate test notice. If you have moved, you should also include your new mailing address. We are experiencing a high volume of requests for duplicate notices. Please be patient and only send one request. Your request will be processed in the order that it is received.

Please note that only some lists resulting from the LEE are posted on our website. Agencies with specific symbols assigned at the time of announcement have their eligible list posted on the day of issuance (Promotional titles, Parole Officer Recruit, Parole Officer Recruit Bilingual). The lists for Parole Officer Recruit and Parole Officer Recruit Bilingual issued on May 7, 2014.

Agencies without specific symbols assigned at the time of announcement will not have their eligible list posted (Municipal Police Officer, Campus Police Officer Recruit, County Police Officer, Park Police Officer, Police Officer Recruit Human Services, Police Officer Palisades Interstate Park, Sheriff's Officer, County Correction Officer).  These lists will be issued when the agency has a need to hire and asks for a certified list.  At that time, candidates will be notified of their score and rank for that title within that particular jurisdiction.  Candidates will also be instructed to contact the appointing authority of that jurisdiction if they are interested in being considered for a position.
