Resources

Welcome to Green Homes Office resources!  This section provides non-financial resources on various topics.  The Green Future Guidelines are a list of green building items, descriptions of their benefits, information on how to include these items in building plans and specifications, and additional resources.  The Green Future Guidelines are useful for anyone interested in including sustainable design features.  The Renewable Energy resources currently focus on solar photovoltaic systems, since New Jersey has a strong suite of programs available to all residential property owners.  Green Living provides resources for those everyday items that people consider as they live more sustainable lives; including recycling, lighting, products, etc.  The GHO and NJHMFA are starting a research project - to track the energy consumption of all of the multifamily buildings financed through NJHMFA and currently in our portfolio.  Energy Benchmarking will provide needed quantitative data on the success of various green building programs; including projects that have participated in the ENERGY STAR Homes program, completed whole-building energy efficiency retrofits, installed Solar PV or Solar Hot Water systems, and/or completed a complete suite of Green Future building items. The Green Job Training Resources guide provides information for individuals and companies that are interested in gaining knowledge and/or certification opportunities in New Jersey in the growing field of Sustainable Design and Energy Efficiency Retrofits.
