TRENTON, N.J.
– New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Acting Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III today announced that Dr. Lois Frankel, noted author and lecturer, will deliver the keynote address at the 2012 NJ Governor’s Conference for Women. The conference is slated for Tuesday, May 7-8, at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Dr. Frankel, president of Corporate Coaching International, literally wrote the book on coaching people to succeed in businesses large and small around the globe. Her books Nice Girls Don't Get The Corner Office and Nice Girls Don't Get Rich are international bestsellers translated into more than 25 languages worldwide. Highly sought-after as a speaker, she has appeared on The Today Show, Larry King Live, CNN, and Fox News and been featured in USA Today, People, and The Wall Street Journal.

In addition, Peggy Noonan, a columnist at The Wall Street Journal, and Donna Brazile, a syndicated columnist and TV political commentator, will headline the opening session of the Conference. Other featured speakers include Carla Harris, manager at Morgan Stanley Investment Management; Dr. Ian Smith, medical/diet expert on Celebrity Fit Club; and Bonnie St. John, author, TV personality and former Olympic skier.

“This dynamic group of speakers will provide this year’s Conference participants with unique opportunities to listen, learn and interact,” said Acting Commissioner Constable. “These are some of the most thoughtful women leaders in our country and their experiences and accomplishments reflect the Conference’s goals of providing women with comprehensive practical information and leadership tools to help them succeed.”

The theme of the 2012 NJ Governor’s Conference for Women is “It’s All About You.”

Attendees can choose from numerous educational and motivational sessions in such areas as career development, personal finance, healthy living, business startups and leadership. The session topics and speakers are all designed to address conference participants’ interests and backgrounds.

A nine-hole golf outing has been added to this year’s conference, with proceeds going to underwrite conference admissions.

A “one-stop” counseling center will provide participants with feedback on career building, resumes and employment opportunities with staff and resources provided by the NJ Department of Labor, NJ Economic Development Authority and others.
