DCA Releases FY10 Municipal State Aid Figures

TRENTON - Today, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) released municipal state aid figures for Fiscal Year 2010 totaling $1,578,973,870.

"Governor Corzine continues to make the right policy choices which have led to the smallest increase in property taxes in a decade and encouraged local governments to examine sharing services," said DCA Commissioner Joseph Doria. "While this budget is lower than the one the Governor proposed in his first year in office, it does reaffirm his commitment to maintaining essential services and protecting those in need of assistance during these difficult economic times."

On Tuesday, March 10th, Governor Corzine presented a budget that called for the largest one-year-cut in spending of any budget in New Jersey history. This marks the second consecutive year in which the budget will be reduced compared to the budget signed the previous year.

The new municipal state aid figures are available on the Department's website at: http://www.nj.gov/dca/lgs/muniaid/aidmenu.shtml.
