Leading Economic Development Organization RECOGNIZES NJRA Redevelopment Training Institute
RTI Courses Meet Criteria for Economic Development Professional Program

TRENTON - The New Jersey Redevelopment Authority (NJRA) today announced that training courses offered through the NJRA Redevelopment Training Institute (RTI) have been approved by the Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) as qualifying courses for its Economic Development Professional (EDP) program.

"Every RTI participant should take advantage of the opportunity to hold credentials from this leading economic development organization," said Joseph Doria, New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Commissioner and NJRA Chair. "Participation in NJRA RTI now opens the door to becoming part of a professional network that offers education, resources, advocacy and networking opportunities."

The EDP designation recognizes significant professional education and/or experience in the field of economic development or closely related disciplines. Candidates must meet a number of requirements including, but not limited to, experience, accomplishments and professional education. NJRA RTI's redevelopment courses, including workshops, are recognized as advanced credit topics for a candidate seeking either initial EDP recognition or EDP renewal.

NJRA RTI, which is open to the public, offers three training courses on the Redevelopment Planning Process, Real Estate Development and Project Finance, all taught by industry leaders. In addition, core courses are enhanced with supplemental one-day workshops that address key issues pertaining to redevelopment.

"We are excited that NEDA understands the value of the NJRA RTI curriculum," said Leslie A. Anderson, NJRA Executive Director. "This is an important designation that will afford both past and future students the credentials to set them apart from their counterparts in this industry."

The Northeastern Economic Developers Association is dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in the field of economic development and encourages its members to maintain the highest professional skills in order to improve the economy of Northeastern United States and the economic development profession.
