Buzby's Chatsworth General Store

Buzby’s Chatsworth General Store, built in 1865, was for many years the lifeline for people living in the Pinelands. Necessities of life – food, kerosene, grains, clothing, were provided. Today the store serves as a Pinelands resource center specializing in information (books, maps, art) and products of the Pinelands and its people. The store is on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

Christ Church, Riverton

Christ Church was founded in 1855. The Rectory was built in 1867, the present church in 1884, both designed by John Fraser. The parish house was erected in 1895. The church features a large Tiffany rose window, along with 20 stained glass windows & tiled floors by local artisans. All buildings are contributing members of the Riverton State & National Historic District.

Jacob's Chapel and Colemantown Meeting House

Colemantown Meeting House (1840) is the oldest black church in Burlington County. Named after Charles Coleman, an early church leader, it also served as a schoolhouse for black children. It is located on Elbo Lane, near the present sanctuary, Jacob’s Chapel (1867). Both played integral roles in the Underground Railroad.

Smith-Cadbury Mansion (Moorestown Historical Society)

Built in 1738, the Smith-Cadbury Mansion hosted the Marquis de Lafayette and was commandeered by Hessian soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Currently the headquarters of the Historical Society of Moorestown, visitors can tour the house and participate in events throughout the year. There is an extensive library and gift shop. The site is recognized as part of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area.

Paulsdale (Alice Paul Institute)

Paulsdale, a National Historic Landmark and home of NJ suffragist and equal rights activist Alice Stokes Paul, today tells the story of Alice Paul's life and work for equality and hosts heritage and leadership development programs for the public. Paulsdale is a participating site in the Women’s Heritage Trail.

Whitesbog

Whitesbog is an agricultural site and company town located on the northwestern edge of the Pine Barrens. The White family was instrumental in establishing the cranberry and blueberry industries that shaped this region.

Burlington County Historical Society

The Burlington County Historical Society is housed within a group of historic sites including homes that were the birthplaces of author James Fenimore Cooper and Captain James Lawrence, as well as the Bard-How home, a 17th century colonial house. Also on site is the Genealogy Library of Burlington County families, which contains records and artifacts pertaining to Burlington County history. The Historical Society hosts monthly family programs and a Sunday Lecture series
