Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency is a school-based program that has incorporated elements of the U.S. Department of Justice’s delinquency prevention program and collaborates with:
- Local law enforcement such as in the police Station House Adjustment program
- Municipal and county crisis intervention units
- Community based juvenile conference panels
- Juvenile justice programs in schools or communities
The goal of these collaborations is to support students who have displayed behaviors that can or have caused them to become involved in the juvenile justice system. As a result, students are provided with the counseling, training, and community support necessary to deter risky behaviors in order to succeed in school, gain employment and strengthen their community as a whole.
