Youth Thrive Exemplary Programs Nomination Invitation
On July 1, 2012, DCF will embark on the next phase in the implementation of its Case Practice Model (CPM), the cornerstone of the child welfare reform effort in New Jersey, by beginning to extend the training model to our Family Preservation Service Providers (FPS).
We anticipate that this will allow for an expanded level of teaming among DCF staff and FPS providers where a strength-based and shared decision-making approach is fundamental. As part of this change, we will also now extend the Department’s full catalog of continuing education courses, which are available to DCF staff, to our FPS through the Departments’ Training Academy.
We look forward to this next phase in our practice change efforts as we believe this will enhance our ability to respond to the needs of children and families we serve.
As we embark on this exciting transition, staff from the Training Academy will contact you to ensure that you are provided appropriate access, and specific information and instructions to allow you and your staff to register. For many of you who already take advantage of DCF courses, you will find that the process to register will remain the same. However, we are mindful that you may have questions or need to be refreshed. Thus, we hope that this will aid you in your training plans moving forward.
