May 9, 2012 - The second Barnegat Bay Blitz found a group of dedicated volunteers ready to hit the shoreline in Seaside Park, again in the pouring rain. The good news was that despite the weather spirits were high as they set off in search of trash and debris. Better news was that the group filled less trash bags than they did at the first Blitz. Was it the time of year that made the difference? The wind? The tides?
We'd like to think it was the residents and visitors to the region being more careful and thoughtful. Many thanks to the volunteers that came out and to Eric Wojceichowski and his crew from the Seaside Park Public Works Dept. Without their help the Blitz would not have been possible in the Park.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who braved the wind and rain to come to Seaside Park to participate in the first annual Barnegat Bay Blitz! Their time and effort helped make the day a success and was the first step on the road a cleaner, healthier Barnegat Bay. I'd also like to thank Eric Wojciechowski and his crew at the Seaside Park Dept. of Public Works. We would not have reached our goal without their assistance and advice.
