Municipal Public Access Planning>Public Access Planning and Design>Codes
Federal, state and local codes regulate public access for various issues such as barrier free access, site development, repairs, renovations and new construction, and special uses such as playgrounds. When considering public access designs, research should be done to determine all applicable codes for each specific location and the amenities to be provided.
Development on or adjacent to tidal waterways and their shores shall provide barrier free access where feasible and warranted by the character of the site.
