Keeping Track Using Logs
Your generator category
(CESQG, SQG, LQG) will
determine whether and how you keep track of daily or weekly
inspections that YOU perform at your facility. If you
transport wsaste off-site, you are also responsible for
properly manifesting the hazardous waste. To help you,
here are sample log sheets that you can print and use
at your facility. They are samples only and you may alter
them to fit your needs.
If you are a CESQG - You are not required to inspect
your hazardous waste container area for compliance with
the NJAC 26G-6 rules.
If you are a SQG - You are required to inspect
your hazardous waste containers weekly. Reference 40 CFR
265.174 for specific requirements. If you store in tanks,
you are required to inspect on a daily/weekly schedule.
If you are a LQG - You are required to inspect
your hazardous waste containers weekly. Reference 40 CFR
265.174 for specific requirements. If you store in tanks,
you are required to inspect on a daily/bimonthly and yearly
schedule and keep a log of these inspections.
The log sheet must be available to a DEP inspector. You
can use this log as proof that you have performed required
inspections.
