HWC&E TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Welcome to the Hazardous Waste Compliance and Enforcement Training Opportunities page. Our goal is to provide the regulated community with the information they need to better understand the regulations and maintain compliance. We initiated the training program pursuant to a component of our Strategic Plan, which requires DEP to “effectively balance compliance assistance, enforcement and education to achieve compliance and move the regulated community and the public towards environmental stewardship”.
The DEP has been offering these free seminars since 2006, and we have had well over 1,000 attendees since that time. The “PowerPoints” section below provides a list of the seminars that have been offered along with their dates and locations, and a link to the PowerPoint presentations from that seminar.

Compliance Advisories
Compliance and Enforcement has been issuing Compliance Advisories since 2003. Compliance Advisories are fact sheets that deal with a variety of environmental issues. They are referred to as either an Update, Alert or Warning. For example, on March 2008 an Update entitled “DEP Develops Guidelines for Proper Disposal of Household Medication” was issued. Later that month a Warning entitled “Smoke from Outdoor Wood Boilers Prohibited” was issued.
