Office of Strategy Management

About Us
The Office of Strategy Management (OSM) provides C&E with the technical support and expertise required to fulfill its mission. OSM is the functional home of C&E’s strategic management system, the Environmental Intelligence Center (EIC), the New Jersey Environmental Management System (NJEMS) and Data Support unit, the Strategic Communications and Outreach program and the Environmental Stewardship program. 

What We Do
OSM performs a variety of activities in support of C&E’s strategic and operational needs. OSM’s main functions and services:
  • Lead and assist with cross-programmatic and DEP-wide initiatives using project management principles
  • Conduct financial analyses such as ability to pay and economic benefit reviews
  • Assist with C&E strategy formulation and planning
  • Identify environmental trends, operation efficiencies and improvements though the use of data mining and environmental intelligence
  • Lead and coordinate C&E’s emergency preparedness efforts and the Emergency Command Center
  • Manage the Environmental Stewardship program 
  • Manage the Compliance Advisory program
  • Manage C&E measures and Key Performance Indicators
  • Issue Compliance Letters
  • Lead and support C&E’s IT-related needs, including GIS and web maintenance
  • Provide NJEMS end user support, help and guidance, training and resolution to technical issues
  • Lead communication and outreach efforts
  • Design and develop operational and strategic Business Objects and Web Intelligence reports for internal and external use
