Seasonal Field Technician – Marine FisheriesBackground: Marine Fisheries Biology Location: Nacote Creek Research Station, Port Republic, Atlantic County Job Description: Surveying river herring (alewife and blueback) populations in the Maurice River and Rancocas Creek during the spring and fall. Assisting with other NJ Bureau of Marine Fisheries projects may be periodically required as needed.
Duties will include:
1) Setting and retrieval of various sampling apparatus such as gill nets, beach seines and trap nets. Requirements: A degree in fisheries biology, wildlife biology or ecology is preferred. Candidate should have the ability to identify various marine and freshwater fishes. Preferred computer skills include experience with MS_WORD, MS_EXCEL, MS_ACCESS. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
