The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish & Wildlife will host an evening program on black bears at the Pequest Trout Hatchery & Natural Resource Education Center in Oxford, Warren County, on September 25 at 6:30pm. The program is part of an intensive educational campaign to teach residents of bear country how to successfully coexist with this fascinating species.

The natural history of black bears in the Garden State will be discussed, as will the results of past/current research efforts. Practical information on bear-proofing the home and reducing conflicts between people and bears will be given, and all attendees will receive a brochure on living in bear country. The program includes a PowerPoint presentation, question and answer session, and much more. There is no fee and pre-registration is not required.
