ERROR IN OPENING DAY OF WOODCOCK SEASON NEWS RELEASE

According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife, the following discrepancies pertain to the recent Oct. 17 Opening Day of Woodcock Season in North Zone news release.

· Nontoxic shot is NOT required for woodcock. It is only required for waterfowl and also for railbirds after the waterfowl season opens.

· The daily bag limit is three birds with a possession limit of six.

· Hunters should note that on November 8 (the Friday before the opening day of the Small Game Season), all firearm hunting is prohibited on those Wildlife Management Areas where the Division stocks pheasant and quail.
