The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife will host a public meeting regarding the recently released Public Information Document for Amendment 4 to the ASMFC's Weakfish Fishery Management Plan. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at the Galloway Township Library, Jimmie Leeds Road in Absecon, Atlantic County.
The public information document outlines a series of options regarding reference points and periods, bycatch, creel limits, age/size structure and data collection. It also provides an overview of the management history of the species, information on the recreational and commercial fisheries and an update of the most recent stock assessment.
