BLACK BEAR HUNTING PERMIT APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND ACCURATELY
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife urges black bear hunting permit applicants to fill out applications completely and accurately.
"Numerous applications are being received that have either been filled in incorrectly or are incomplete," said Division Director Martin J. McHugh. "As a result, they are being returned for corrections and resubmission. Prospective bear hunters should realize that all of the information requested on the application is extremely important and we ask that you take the time to complete these applications carefully."
Applications that are filled out incorrectly or incompletely will be returned. Applications must be received (not postmarked) by Sept. 30, 2003.
Applicants should pay special attention to the following areas:
Be sure to complete both sides of the application with a #2 pencil or blue or black ink pen. Information should be filled in at the top of each category (write a single letter in each box) and corresponding circles should be filled in completely.
Applicants must provide a 2003 firearm hunting license number.
All hunters wishing to take part in the season must attend a mandatory training seminar. An individual need only attend one seminar. An applicant must choose three possible seminars and rank each in order of preference. The number "1" should designate your first choice (the most preferred seminar), "2" for second and "3" for third. A total of only three circles should be filled in this entire section of the application. Remember that there are morning, afternoon and evening seminars too; sometimes at the same location. Be sure not to mark 1, 2, and 3 for the same seminar and time.
The "ST" category refers to state of residence.
Under the "Date of Birth" category, month and year are all that is required. Do not fill in the actual date of your birth.
Seminar selection notifications will be mailed after Oct. 8, 2003. Questions regarding application status will be taken after Oct. 13 at (609) 292-9192.
