The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife recently announced a seasonal closure beginning Friday, May 22, of three parking lots at the Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area in Lower Township, Cape May County. The closure is a result of Division efforts to curb unauthorized use, illegal conduct and damage to the area's sensitive dunes and vegetation.
The jetty lot and two lots located at the western end of New England Road will be closed to the public. For those wishing to access birding areas and hiking trails, the small parking lot just off Route 9 on New England Road will remain open.
