The New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife in cooperation with the New Jersey Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will host the second annual JAKES day on Saturday, June 13 at 9 a.m. The free event will be held at the Division's Assunpink Wildlife Management Area in Robbinsville, Monmouth County and is open to youngsters aged 17 and under.

The JAKES program, an acronym for Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics & Sportsmanship, strives to pass on the turkey hunting tradition by focusing on ethics, safety and the need for professional wild turkey management. Event highlights include an airgun/archery range, simulated outdoor turkey hunt and door prize drawings.

Each registered participant will receive a free lunch, one-year membership in the NWTF, T-shirt and turkey call. Limited to 50 participants, the deadline to register is June 6. Rain date is June 14. For more information contact Cathy Blumig at 732-873-3206.
