Gregory Young's state record lake trout was taken from Round Valley Reservoir in Hunterdon County on May 4, 2002. Young's 32 pound, 8 ounce lake trout weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces more than the previous record taken from Round Valley in 2001. May 9, 2002 news release

Young was trolling from his boat when he landed the trout on 17-pound test line with a 10-pound leader. The fish, which took an hour to bring in, measured 41 inches in length with a 25-inch girth. It was caught in the cove near the Division of Fish and Wildlife's boat ramp.
