Please Note:
The tutorials are a great way to learn about the i-MapNJ DEP application but here are a few
quick tips you might need to get you started:
i-MapNJ is best viewed with Internet Explorer 6.x or higher. i-MapNJ utilizes POPUP windows for display of query results. You may need to disable POPUP blocking software you have
running on your computer to ensure proper functionality of this application.
- To momentarily bypass the effects of Pop-up Blocker in i-MapNJ,
while holding down the [ctrl] key on your keyboard, click on the desired function (Find or Identify, etc.).
- If you're using Internet Explorer, you can turn off Pop-up blocker by going to the Tools menu and
selecting Pop-up Blocker > Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
- Downloaded toolbars such as Google or Yahoo have Pop-up blockers on by default and must also be
turned off for i-MapNJ to function properly.

If you are using IE 7.x, to view the map coordinates in the status bar you must make the following change:
Under - Tools > Internet Options select the Security tab Select a zone to view (i.e. Internet)
and then click on the Custom Level button and Enable
Allow status bar updates via script. Click OK. If prompted with Warning! Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?
Click Yes then OK and quit all IE windows and launch i-MapNJ again.
- If you're having trouble launching the application you might need to add the i-MapNJ server to the list of Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer.
Under - Tools > Internet Options select the Security tab then click on Trusted sites then click the Sites button.
In the "Add this website to the zone:" input box type http://njgin.state.nj.us then click the Add button. Uncheck the "Require
server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box then click Close and OK to exit the menus.
