GRANTS PURPOSE OF FUNDING
To prepare, revise and implement district solid waste
management plans, including implementation of the
Recycling Program.
SOURCE OF FUNDING
Taxes collected on solid waste disposed of in New
Jersey landfills.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
County governments only.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR
CONSIDERATION
The DEP must determine that a county is meeting its
solid waste management responsibilities.
GRANT LIMITATIONS
Annual grants are based on amount of solid waste generated
in each county, with no county receiving less than
2% of the available statewide fund.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Grant application forms, program announcements, application
deadlines and program guidelines are sent to the
counties annually.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Grant deadlines are published in program announcements
and are sent directly to the counties.
NOTIFICATION DATE
Notices of intent to award are issued approximately
one month after submission of acceptable grant applications.
