Wildfire Community Assistance For Fuels Management And Southern Pine Beetle Suppression
||Prospective applicants must submit the attached proposal for reimbursement to their respective Forest Fire Service Division Office or Trenton Headquarters by December 31, 2016 in order to be considered for funding during the first application period.
Purpose of Funding
To provide municipalities, communities and other qualifying organizations a cost-share incentive to suppress southern pine beetle (SPB) outbreaks; and to prevent and reduce hazardous fuels accumulations.

USDA Forest Service- through the National Fire Plan.

Who is Eligible
NJ counties, municipalities, homeowner associations, volunteer fire departments, service organizations, and other interested civic groups.
Qualifications Required for Consideration
Documentation of SPB infestations and/or the potential for SPB infestation or wildfire hazard. The applicant must be the organization that incurred the costs. Applicants must also be participating in the New Jersey Firewise Communities Program.
Funding is limited to half of the project cost, up to $5,000.
Each application will be evaluated based on the ability of the project to suppress SPB and reduce wildfire risks within the community.
A description of the project and a “Proposal for Reimbursement” are required in order for an application to be considered. Applications may be submitted at any time within the period deadlines listed below.
