Wildfire Community Assistance For Fuels Management And Southern Pine Beettle Suppression
||Prospective applicants must submit the attached proposal for reimbursement to their respective Forest Fire Service Division Office or Trenton Headquarters between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012 in order to be considered for funding during the first application period. Subsequent application periods where applications may be considered (depending on the availability of funding) include: Application period 2: January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013; Application Period 3: January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.
Notification of award will occur within one month of the end of each application period listed above. The final notification will occur within one month of December 31, 2014.
Purpose of Funding
To provide municipalities, communities and other qualifying organizations a cost-share incentive to suppress southern pine beetle (SPB) outbreaks; and to prevent and reduce hazardous fuels accumulations.

Who is Eligible
NJ counties, municipalities, homeowner associations, volunteer fire departments, service organizations, and other interested civic groups.
Qualifications Required for Consideration
Documentation of SPB infestations and/or the potential for SPB infestation or wildfire hazard. The applicant must be the organization that incurred the costs.
Funding is limited to half of the project cost, up to $10,000.
Each application will be evaluated based on the ability of the project to suppress SPB and reduce wildfire risks within the community.
A description of the project and a “Proposal for Reimbursement” are required in order for an application to be considered. Applications may be submitted at any time within the period deadlines listed below.
