Superstorm Sandy

In response to Hurricane Sandy, the Division has gathered in one place information on post storm recovery and reconstruction activities providing guidance on what is regulated, what is not regulated, and what permits, if any, are necessary in order to make the process of recovery and reconstruction easier.

NOTICE: On June 20, 2013, the Department adopted amendments to the Coastal Permit Program rules, N.J.A.C. 7:7, and Coastal Zone Management rules, N.J.A.C. 7:7E. Please see the "Adoption of New Coastal Permit Program Rules" announcement on the News and Notices webpage for more information.

NOTICE: On April 16, 2013, the Department adopted emergency amendments, repeals and new rules to the Coastal Permit Program rules, N.J.A.C. 7:7, and Coastal Zone Management rules, N.J.A.C. 7:7E. and also filed a concurrent proposal to make these changes permanent. Please see the "Emergency Adoption of New Coastal Permit Program Rules" announcement on the News and Notices webpage for more information.

NOTICE: On  January 24, 2013, the Department adopted emergency amendments (PDF) to the flood hazard area rules (referred to as emergency flood hazard area regulations throughout this webpage) and also filed a concurrent proposal to make these changes permanent. Please see the "Emergency Flood Hazard Area Regulations Adopted to Guide Rebuilding from Sandy" announcement on the News and Notices webpage for more information.
