PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Bureau of Northern Field Operations (BNFO) staff is primarily responsible for overseeing the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites resulting from discharges related to the universe of non-regulated underground storage tank (UST) systems, including homeowner heating oil USTs and other cases.

The bureau manages cases in the following counties; Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren. A large portion of this bureau’s workload is the remedial oversight of home heating oil tanks for residential dwellings.
