PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Case Assignment processes all applications for a Memorandum of Agreement submitted under the voluntary cleanup program. The bureau also mails correspondence to property owners after a discharge has been reported to the hot line that was determined not to be an emergency situation by the department’s voluntary cleanup program.
UST-Initial Notice processes all permits to close or up grade regulated underground storage tanks. The group also reviews reports submitted after a regulated under ground storage tank has been closed to determine if a no further action approval can be issued or if further remediation is required.
ISRA-Initial Notice reviews all reports for properties subject to the state's Industrial Site Recovery Act to determine if a no further action approval can be issued or if further remediation is required.

PERMITTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Initial Notice section reviews permits to up grade or close regulated underground storage tanks. Note: New tank installations are exempt from departmental permitting if the entire tank system (tank and piping) will be protected from corrosion, spill and overfills and is secondarily contained and interstitially monitored.
