The Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Remediation, Upgrade and Closure Fund (UST Fund) is a grant and loan program available to private individuals, public entities, duly incorporated volunteer fire, ambulance, first aid, emergency, or rescue squads, homeowners, corporations, non-profit organizations, independent institutions of higher education, and others, to fund remediation caused by leaking underground storage tanks. There are specific financial eligibility requirements that determine the type of financial assistance, (either grant, loan or a combination of both), for which each type of applicant may be eligible. Public entities, including local municipalities, are eligible for zero interest loans only. Additional information may be obtained by calling the bureau. MONETARY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED:

For most categories of applicants, financial assistance is in the form of grants, low-interest loans, or combination grants and loans. For public entities, however, only zero interest loans are available. Additional program information can be found here.
