GOVERNOR CORZINE WAIVES ADMISSION FEES AT STATE SWIMMING
AREAS
TRENTON -- Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that
due to extreme temperatures, he is waiving admission fees Thursday,
August 3 at 13 of the state's swimming areas. This action is intended
to help New Jerseyans cope with the excessive heat and reduce energy
consumption.
"As temperatures continue to stay high it's important that
our residents find ways to cool down," said New Jersey Governor
Jon Corzine. "We want to help people take a break from the
heat so we are waiving admission fees at all open state swimming
areas on Thursday."
"Extreme heat can be very dangerous causing heat stroke and
other heat related illnesses," said Commissioner Jackson. "We
appreciate Governor Corzine's concern and his decision to make these
swimming areas accessible to the public during this heat wave."
The following is a list of open state swimming areas that will
offer free admission on Thursday.
