SMALL BUSINESS CONFERENCE
TO OFFER
COMPREHENSIVE INFO ON STATE ENVIRONMENTAL, ENERGY AND
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Small business owners interested in saving
money through pollution prevention and energy conservation
can learn about state environmental and financial assistance
programs at a free conference to be held Sept. 21 in East
Windsor.
The conference, sponsored by the NJ Dept.
of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the New Jersey Commerce
& Economic Growth Commission, includes presentations
from DEP, the Commerce Commission, PSEG, the U.S. Small
Business Administration, the New Jersey Small Business
Development Centers, the New Jersey Economic Development
Authority's Commercial Lending Division, the state Dept.
of Labor, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA)
Compliance Assistance Program, the NJ Institute of Technology,
and the Rutgers University Office of Industrial Productivity
and Energy Assessment.
"The Small Business Environmental
and Financial Assistance Conference is designed to help
small business owners comply with environmental regulations
and realize the money saving potential of pollution prevention
and energy efficiency initiatives, as well as identify
programs to help finance these endeavors," said DEP
Commissioner Bob Shinn.
"We're pleased to co-sponsor this
comprehensive, one-day seminar to help further the growth
of small businesses in the Garden State," said Commerce
Commission Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Charles
E. (Sandy) Hance. "I urge business owners to take
advantage of this unique opportunity to discover how waste
reduction, energy efficiency and other environmental programs
can improve their operations and their bottom line."
The Sept. 21 conference will be held
at the National Conference Center at the Ramada Inn of
East Windsor from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no charge

The event is made possible through a
grant from the U.S. EPA and is offered through DEP's Small
