NonProfit InformationWelcome to the DEP Resources for Non-Profits web page. This page serves as a one-stop shop for non-profits in New Jersey seeking to utilize various funding sources and volunteer opportunities available from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

The DEP Grant and Loan Catalog lists available funding opportunities from DEP. While most of these opportunities are geared towards municipalities, some are applicable to non-profit groups.

The following is a listing of volunteer opportunities available through DEP:

  • Adopt a Beach Program
    A program administered by New Jersey Clean Communities Council that seeks organizations and individuals to help keep our State's beaches clean.
  • Americorps NJ Watershed Ambassadors
    An environmental community service program administered by the NJDEP to raise public awareness about water and watershed issues and to promote watershed stewardship through direct community involvement.
  • DEP Internships
    NJDEP maintains a resume pool of intern candidates throughout the year that is used to recruit college and graduate student interns for the unpaid internships.
  • Volunteers in Forestry - NJ Forest Service
    An opportunity for individuals and groups to help improve and enhance our forest resources in New Jersey.
  • Volunteers in Parks (VIP)
    A program created to afford citizens the unique opportunity to participate in the stewardship of the State's natural and historic resources that have been entrusted to the State Park Service.
  • Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring
    A program administered through the Bureau of Water Quality Standards and Assessment that ensures that water bodies are functioning properly.
  • Wildlife Conservation Corps
    With more than 1700 members, the largest natural resource management volunteer group in the State, WCC members are involved in all phases of Division activities from wildlife research to newsletter production.
