PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

Rules for Entry
Both amateur and professional photographers are invited to participate in Wharton State Forests first annual photography contest, scheduled to be held at the Batsto Village Visitors Center on Sunday, May 15, from 1 to 4pm. The public will be invited to attend a reception for contest participants, which will be held that afternoon. Please read the following rules carefully:
1. Participants are invited to submit one photograph of any sight within Wharton State Forest on or before Monday, March 15, 2005.
2. The contest is open to entrants over eight years of age. However, children under
18 years of age must present the signature of a parent or guardian in order to participate. Wharton State Forest employees and volunteers, and their family members, are not permitted to enter the competition.
3. Participants must register entries and sign a release form no later than the closing date of the competition. All photographs entered in the contest become the property of Wharton State Forest.
4. Photographs may be in color or black-and-white, vertical or horizontal format, and no greater than 8” x 10 in size. No framed or matted prints will be accepted.
5. Finished photographs may be delivered by hand or via regular mail by the deadline to Wharton State Forest Photo Contest, 4110 Nesco Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037. No e-mail attachments or CDs will be accepted.
6. Judges will select the top 100 photographs, which will be exhibited in the Batsto Village Visitors Center beginning May 1, 2005.
7. Prizes will be offered to the top three photographs in each of the following categories: Nature, Historic, Recreational, Children’s (open to contestants age 8-17 years). A Grand Prize will be offered for the contest’s overall Best Photo. The decision of the judges is final. Participants do not have to be present in order to win.
