Clean Community Litter March

Since 1987 the City of Trenton, in partnership with the Department of Environment Protection and area businesses, sponsors the Trenton Clean Communities Litter March. Employees from all organizations volunteer and help residents and local students clear debris and recyclable litter from areas in downtown Trenton. Participants are rewarded for their efforts with tee shirts and the realization that they've contributed to a healthier, cleaner, and safer environment.

Highlights
  • An awards ceremony is held after the cleanup and the teams that have collected the most trash are recognized.

  • Participants receive a free tee shirt, and hats. Gloves, tools and bags are also provided for the cleanup.

  • Local transportation is provided to and from cleanup sites.

  • Volunteers for this event range between 1200-1500 people each year. Refreshments are provided.
